NON DUG MASSACHUSETTS MILITIA "ANCIENT AND HONORABLE ARTILLERY CO" BELT BUCKLE THIS ELITE INDEPENDENT COMPANY WAS ORGANIZED IN 1638 ODONNELL DESCRIBES THIS BUCKLE AS THIN ROLLED BRASS FACE CRIMPED OVER AN IRON BACK PLATE THEN DIE STRUCK TOGETHER, IRON BELT LOOPS SOLDERED TO BACK, THE ABSENCE OF CRISP DETAIL ON THESE PLATES IS DUE TO RIGID BRASS AND POLISHING, THE BELT PASSED THRU THE BACK LOOPS AND HOOKED BACK ON ITSELF.. THIS IS A VERY RARE AND LARGE PLATE 81X98MM I HAVE SHOWN IT PICTURED WITH A US BOX PLATE AS A SIZE COMPARISON(EXCUSE THE QUALITY OF THE PHOTO)
