UNION SHIELD DEVICE BUG IN WINCHESTER VA (FROM THE JAKE HENDRICKS COLLECTION) THIS IS THE ONLY KNOWN DUG ONE THAT I KNOW OF I HAVE A NON DUG ONE THEY ARE LEAD FILLED THIS ONE HAS LOST THE MOUNTING BAR ON THE BACK THEY ARE FAIRLY LARGE AND IT ID NOT KNOWN IF IT WAS A MARTINGALE BRIDLE ROSETTE MAYBE DECORATION FOR THE BLINDERS OR SADDLE INSIGNIA IT IS 2 1/4 X 2 1/4 IN I THINK THAT THEY POSSIBLY WERE A CORPS DESIGNATION THE SHIELD IS THE SAME AS THE 9TH CORPS AND THE DIAMOND REPRESENTS THE 3RD CORPS I HAVE THE 3RD AND 9TH IN NON DUG ALSO ITEM NUMBERS 6574 6575 THE DUG ITEM IS SHOWN IN THE FIRST TWO PICTURES THE NON DUG SHOWN ARE FOR COMPARISON
